I am a self taught knife maker, although I did not arrive here alone. As a boy, I learned how to use my hands from my father, who at age 19 went into the auto body business and remained there for over fifty years. My grandfathers and great uncles were ditch diggers, coal miners, brick layers and World War Two vets. They fought in Sicily, North Africa and France. Their influence on me shapes everything I do, including the knives I make.
My grandmothers were the hardest working people I've ever known. They got through the depression with grit and determination, and raised families like it was the only thing that mattered in the world.

But it was my mother who encouraged me to find my own true path in life.

My wife and I raised our daughter Jessy and her two siblings with that same encouragement to be authentic. After graduating from college Jessy gave the corporate world a fair shot, but decided that working with her hands was the only true path for her.

Jessy, may in fact be the most talented person I know, and it is one of the greatest honors of my life to work with her creating heirloom pieces for people all over the world.
