                    An Honest Approach

Our approach is simple: make every knife and sheath by hand. Every buckskin fringe is hand-cut, stitched and dyed individually. Every knife is forged by fire and hammer. The look of an item is never taken into consideration. This may come as a surprise to those who are drawn to the authentic aesthetic of our knives and sheaths, but it is the techniques we use that determines the overall appearance.

In other words, we build the knife they way it's supposed to be built and the rest takes care of itself.

If we were to make a knife and sheath for a movie we wouldn't ask how it was to "look,"  but rather how will it function? We'd focus on the character, not the appearance. And this is how they come to look so authentic. The fact is, they are authentic. â€‹

While we don't have an issue with stock removal or grinding bevels and edges in a blade, it simply doesn't interest us. If that was the only way a knife could be made we probably would do something else. The skill and endurance that is required to move steel completely by hand is very appealing to us and the result speaks for itself. Putting an aged patina on a sheath, or hammering forge marks on a blade is not something we do on purpose. It is something we do naturally in the making of our pieces.
